Broken Arm
The final diagnosis is a "typical bicycle accident fracture". She basically rolled her arm forward when she wrecked and that snapped the end of her radius. I circled the break in the photo. The ortho doc was just leaving the hospital and so they were able to catch him and avoid a painful experience with setting the bone. He said it was ok to leave it as is, and that she could also get a regular hard cast today also. It's not a "signable" cast, which bummed her out though. It's not dampened her spirits much, as you can see. The doc asked her what happened, and Doug let her tell him. She was jumping on the ramp that the skateboarding boys had made out front, and didn't land quite on her tires. The doc asked her if she was the youngest one out there, and she said yes. He wasn't surprised, and if you know her at all, you aren't either. She's a tough one, however, and I am pretty sure she'll come through this just fine.
