Merry Christmas, you make me crazy.

We have spent our Christmas break doing one of two things so far.

1.  Driving each other nuts.

2.  Making snacks, crafts and decorating.

I figured you wouldn’t be interested in photos of the kids fighting, so here are some photos of #2 instead.

Ethan and Avery frosted the cookies that they made with Grandma Vic.  I didn’t help at all, only took pictures.

Hope you like sprinkles.  A lot.

“Ethan please smile for the pictures.”

That’s better.  Thanks.

And the sprinkling continues.

Avery was the froster.  All of these cookies were frosted with her generously licked fingers.

And then here is what the rest of the house looked like.  This is Adkins in the raw.

It was bad.  Complete with crabby 4 year old.

Then we made these little pretzel/hershey kiss/m&m snacks.  They are yummy.

First you lay out mini pretzels on a cookie sheet.  Then put one unwrapped hershey kiss on top.

December 2010 029

Put them in a 250 degree oven until the kisses get shiny.  Not too long, only 5 minutes or so.  You just want them soft, not melted.

Then push one m&m into each soft hershey kiss.  It should squish down nicely.  If not, they aren’t melty enough and you should put them back in the oven.

I guess I got impatient and didn’t take a picture of the finished product.

Today we made snowflake ornaments.  Triangle beads and pipe cleaners.

And finally, photos of photos.  Here are the kids school pics.  Cute, huh?

December 2010 015

I guess this is the last pic.  This is by far the janky-est Christmas tree we have had ever.  The lights are on white cords.  The ornaments are many and there is not a star or angel on the top.  The kids like it though.  That’s what counts.  Oh and one set of lights is white and the others are colored.  High class here folks.
