1. I am 99.0% done with the stairs! I finished painting the treads tonight after the kids went to bed, and I have that top half step almost done, just one or two more coats of black. It looks so good! I am going to do some wipe on poly to protect my awesome paint job.
2. I have started painting the board and batten. It is going to look amazing. I’m only about 20% done with that, but progress is progress. Because of all the edges and corners, it takes forever to paint. But in the end, it’s going to be worth all of the trouble.
3. I have decided to paint the kitchen this summer. Pretty blue/green/silver-ish. If I can find the fabric I want to cover the cornices, then I can get away with a super cheap, but totally different kitchen. I also want to beadboard the backsplash, but that is a “need Doug’s help” job, and so that is only a maybe at this point.
4. I made, or rather am in the process of making, two things. First, I did a cute butterfly craft for Avery’s friend for her bday. I’m not totally done because I need a glue gun, and mine bit the dust. As soon as I can I will take some pics and show you. Second, I have all of these plastic chip thingys that are rectangles. They are a little smaller than a credit card and they are all transparent, but colorful. I am working out a plan to make a cool mobile/chandelier something-or-other to hang in the front hall and catch the light during the day. If I can pull it off, it will be super cool.
****Totally off the subject…tomorrow we get our chicks! I’ll for sure add some pics of them!
5. I planted the garden today. Cukes, broccoli, salsa peppers, bush beans, snap peas, tomatoes, strawberries. We also have 2 blueberry bushes, but those aren’t planted yet.
6. The hen house and back yard fence are in the planning stages. Both should be happening late July, along with some fruit trees and a compost bin or two. Our back yard will look totally different.
