Valentine Carnage

Rock Star hair streaks for everyone!

Avery's Purse inspired valentine box

Erin's collage card...in progress

We spent the afternoon working on the valentine stuff for the kids classes. Owen and Avery both needed the traditional "valentine's box", and Erin needed to make one card for a girl that she will exchange in class.
Avery wanted a purse-like box, which I could do because Erin had one like it last year. Owen's started out as a "who knows what it will turn out to be" sort of thing, and ended up being a soccer themed mail box, compete with working mail flag! Erin decided on a red and pink themed collage, with some cajooling from me. It will be really pretty when she is done. See attached photos of the chaos.
We didn't finish until almost six o'clock, and then we all tested out Avery's purple hair streaking stick that I got her to use for the "hottest slumber party in town" that she is invited to on Friday. She won' t be spending the night, but she is going to "party like a rock star" for a few hours at the party. (Quotes are straight from the party invitation. I didn't realize that a seven year old could even have the hottest slumber party in town or should be encouraged to party like a rock star. Doesn't that usually end up with paparazzi shots of celebs that are commando??)
We then resorted to "freezer dinner", ie. tater tots and chicken nuggets, since it was {is} after six and we are still cleaning up and doing homework.
