Whew! We made it! Today was our last day of school and let.me.tell.you, this family is ready for the break. I don’t even have those normal feelings of dread when it comes to summer break and the inevitable doom that comes from tossing 4 kids together 24/7 when they aren’t used to that much “togetherness.” Nope. Not this summer. I mean sure, they will still fight. Started this afternoon as a matter of fact, but I am chalking that up to the high of leaving school and the fact that the van is totally trashed and it was hot on the way home.
We are down to 2 chickens. The other 9 went home with another family, and these 2 are only foster chickens in our family. Our friends are taking them when they are 7 or 8 weeks old. I had to make a quick decision and choose two chicks to bring home. Evidently I left Dave and Princess behind. Erin and Avery were so sad. I reminded them that we are getting 6 new baby chicks very soon and they can give them names and goo over them. Ethan asked me if I brought Ninja home. I’m thinking, Ninja…what the heck?
“Yes,” Erin piped up.
Of course Owen, lover of correction, said “There was never a chicken named Ninja, Ethan.”
To which Erin loud-whisper responded, “Owen, just go with it!” :) She is going to be a good mother someday.
Hopefully this summer will bring some more blogging, some completion of house projects that started last summer and were put on hold for work, and lots of other super fun junk. Stay tuned!
Hey, maybe tomorrow I can post some pics of the 8th grader, 6th grader, 4th grader and Kindergartner! Whoa Nellie!
